The movie takes place in 2287, 10 years after the events of "Prometheus". The colony ship Covenant, carrying 2,000 colonists, is on a mission to establish a new home on the planet Orf. While on a detour to investigate a mysterious transmission from a nearby planet, the Covenant crew encounters a group of androids, led by David (Michael Fassbender), who was thought to be destroyed. David and his android companion Walter (Michael Fassbender) lead the crew into a trap, resulting in a catastrophic series of events.
